Wild Mustard Flowers
White Mustard Flowers- Sinapis Alba
My favourite new find- spicy flowers! These are absolutely awesome because not only do they add a mustard-y heat to dressings, sandwiches, mashed potato, boiled new potatoes, salads and soups meanwhile making an excellent garnish, but they can be used to replace mustard in a lot of recipes.
For this you can use any edible brassica flower though, I recommend looking for these if you are in the UK as they are abundant:
Black Mustard Brassica Nigra
Sea Cabbage Brassice Oleracea
White Mustard Sinapis Alba
Sea Raddish/Sea Kale Krambe Maritima
Rapeseed Brassica Napus
These are not inclusive of cultivated plants such as:
Rocket/arugula Eruca Sativa
Raddish Raphanus Sativus
Horseraddish Armoracia Rusticana
Kohlrabi Brassica Oleracea
Turnip Brassica Rapa
Which you can also use if you are growing them in your garden, an excellent way to make sure you utilise every part of the plant.
