White Clover Flowers
Trifolium Repens
It's one of those plants that we always see and never really think about along with it's more commonly used counterpart red clover which has been known to relieve symptoms of the menopause and the flowers are dried to make tea.
It's name in latin comes from 'tri' meaning three and 'folium' meaning leaf which is commonly recognisable as the three clover leaf formation.
'Repens' means creeping.
They're not only an excellent source of protein for humans but are used for livestock forage and commonly grows in pastures.
The best ways, in my opinion, to eat the flowers are in sandwiches, salads and they make a delicate garnish.
