Pineapple Weed Tea

Matricaria Discoidea 

Relative of chamomile but with a faint pineapple scent. No, I didn't believe it either until I found some.

Found in meadows and pastures, abundant and easily missed. 

If you are unsure that you have picked the right thing, squeeze the bud between two fingers and inhale, it should smell like sweet, pineapple-y chamomile. 

It looks very similar too but in my opinion, it's far superior.

The way to make the fresh tea that I have pictured above is to snip off about 20-30 buds, place them in a teapot and cover with boiling water. 

I don't usually like herbal tea with sugar or honey in but I find that it enhances the pineapple taste. 

Add a teaspoon or two of honey and enjoy as you would chamomile tea- the effects are similar but pineapple weed is a little less potent.
